Muhammad Waqas Bashir - Visionaries Candidate for President

Why And When Joined PTI

I joined PTI in 2008 because I believe:
  • The sacrifices and efforts rendered by the millions of Muslims of the subcontinent for creation of a welfare Muslim state (Pakistan) were not being fruitful due to lack of justice and wide spread corruption in all institutions across Pakistan.
  • Allah blessed Pakistanis with an ideological state to unite Ummah for implementing and demonstrating the true Islamic values to the world.
  • In the country ridden by corrupt politicians, Imran Khan is a hope that Allah has not abandoned those who sacrificed their lives and belongings for the creation of Pakistan.
  • Imran Khan gave Pakistanis hope at a very critical time when the country was facing the challenge if its survival and the nation had lost hope. He was revealed as a Messiah and played a critical role to unite the heart-broken nation and took steps to turn the dream of Pakistan into a reality by making it a welfare state and his commitment to make justice easy, effective and accessible by common man.
  • Ineffective and passive behaviour of the majority plagued the nation and let the dishonest, selfish and greedy politicians control our destiny that lead the country to current state of turmoil.
  • PTI’s vision is the only way to lead Pakistan out of the dire strait to a healthy and prosperous nation.
  • It is duty of every Pakistani to standby and support Imran Khan and his movement in fulfilling the obligations for which Pakistan was created.
  • I am very committed to the assistance of PTI in delivering its objectives and pray to Allah to bless me with strength and determination to stay committed to the noble cause for rest of my life.

Why And When Joined PTI

I have been attached with PTI voluntarily since 2010 , when I arrived in Australia. But I have recently joined officially as a paid member. I have been active in a number events held by PTI NSW chapter through various roles. However I have always been impressed by the vision and leadership of Imran khan. I started reading Imran khan when he first published his articles about social issue plaguing Pakistan, and was always impressed by his thoughts. I believe PTI can bring positive change it has promised in Pakistan. And it has already shown that it’s the right movement sincere towards the needs of the common man and towards the development of Pakistan. I specifically laud Imran Khan’s efforts to root out corruption and set examples for others.

Any Official Post Held In PTI

Although I have not had any official post held so far but I have been active in organizing number of events during the last chapter (2012-2013) tenure. I volunteered my efforts as a graphics designer, visual solutions, and also provided PTI chapter with number of outdoor and indoor material for a number of events specifically

I designed posters, placards, banners and other material for the protest rally which was held in Martin Place, Sydney to protest heavy rigging of elections in Pakistan, the brutal killing of PTI Leader in Karachi and open threats of MQM leader Altaf Hussain to PTI workers in Karachi. I photographed the entire event, professionally post produced the photos, and uploaded and shared with multiple Facebook groups.

I was in event team of PTI NSW Eid and Independence Day event held on 9th of August 2013. I handled the graphic design & printing of posters, tickets, and flyers for the event. I also handled visual elements of the event like projector slide show, editing and clipping of Specially message by Mr. Asad Umer, and arranging of the media.

I have been actively involved in all of the Party monthly meetings and have suggested in improving overall performance of the chapter and to organize more meaningful events.
I have contributed numerous suggestions to improve the workflow of the chapter and for organizing meetings more productively. I have been a vocal supporter for minimizing intra-party conflicts, and finding common solutions towards working a common goal of betterment of PTI.

If I get elected as the Information secretary of the PTI NSW Chapter I will make sure that Event related information is disseminated more professional and organised so that everybody has a positive knowledge of what, when and what is going to happen.

    Our Past Achievements

    • Raising more than $100,000 in Donations for PTI's 2013 Election Campaign: Last year, our team organised three fundraising events and attended a fundraising event in Canberra. The generosity of NSW’s Pakistanis put PTI NSW amongst the top three of all PTI chapters worldwide in terms of fundraising for the 2013 election campaign in Pakistan. In addition, our team to implemented new and innovative ways of raising funds including use of a fundraising poster, “Pakistanis in Sydney for Naya Pakistan”.

    • Bringing the Pakistani Community Together: Our 23rd March 2013 function has gone down in Pakistani folklore as the most successful community event ever. We were able to bring together more than 700 Pakistanis in one hall for a celebration of Pakistan, Imran Khan and PTI.

    • Establishing a genuine grass-roots movement: PTI NSW's working team reached more than 40 members during our tenure. This included position-holding members with duties in a range of fields including research and legal services.

    • Professionalism: Of course there is a long way to go in making PTI NSW a self-sufficient and professional outfit, but last year, our team held an unprecedented number of monthly meetings, participated in a number of community events and held a landmark protest for overseas Pakistanis' voting rights.

    • Organisational Structure: Before the commencement of our tenure in 2012, no regular monthly meetings were held and PTI NSW consisted solely of a few office-bearers. During our tenure, we initiated two mass recruitment drives which resulted in the appointment of close to 30 position-holders. We promoted the use of professional & reliable information systems for PTI NSW’s position-holders and working team, allowing them to upload and share important documents and materials and keep abreast of the chapter’s affairs on a day-to-day basis. These innovations have since been taken up by other Australian chapters and have streamlined and made easier much of PTI’s intra-party management & communications.

    • Mass Membership Drives: Last year, our team ran several mass membership drives in NSW and registered more than 1000 new members (including 100 paying members).

    • Superior Communication Systems: Last year, we made sure that all registered members of PTI NSW were kept informed (via email, text messaging and personal calls)of developments concerning the chapter including events, news and updates.

    Why We Joined PTI?

We believe in Imran Khan and PTI’s struggle. Pakistan has the potential to develop into one of the great countries of the world, but a succession of corrupt and incompetent governments have brought our country to its knees. We believe that Imran Khan’s vision and PTI’s policies hold the key to saving Pakistan.

In our view, every Pakistani has an obligation to contribute to Pakistan’s revival.

    Our Team Ideology

    • Sub-continent was divided based on two nations ideology; Pakitan was formed for the Mulsims and majority of non-mulsims decided to stay/live in India

    • All sacrifices and efforts of millions of Muslims of subcontinent were for the creation of Pakistan, an Islamic Welfare State instead of a secular sate

    • Pakistan has a destiny. Allah has chosen It to unite Muslims across the globe and to demonstrate the real values of a true Islamic society in practice to the rest of the modern world.

    • Imran Khan is the sign of Allah’s help in these desperate times and a proof that Allah is still holding hands of the Nation of Pakistan and wants us to achieve our destiny.

    • Silence & indifference of Pakistani patriots from their obligations have significantly contributed in Pakistan's current state of turmoil.

    • Pakistan is like the she male camel of Hazrat Salah (Peace be upon him) and we have to protect it to avoid Allah’s Azab on us.

    • We are in now or never state. Our collective struggle with wisdom is the only way to get Pakistan out of this dire strait.

    • It is Wajib on every patriotic Pakistani to say Labbaik to Imran Khan’s call.

    • We believe we are responsible to the extent of our abilities to play role in the struggle to save Pakistan. Inshah Allah, this will be the primary purpose for the rest of our lives.
